I’d been a freelance broadcast journalist for 25 years - mainly with BBC Radio Scotland - doing everything from news & travel to presenting the gardening programme. Then in 2020, like many others during lockdown I found myself with no job & quickly needed a Plan B. Because of social distancing, it had to be something I could do outdoors. With a diploma in horticulture under my belt, a Garden Consultation business was a no brainer. It quickly took off and typical of so many lifestyle businesses, Willow & Herb was ever evolving. Around this time, I started my own cutting patch, and the more I worked with flowers, the more I realised this was my true passion, so trained with some of the best florists I know - I still regularly invest in workshops and masterclasses. Now as a solo-preneur how's used to hitting the ground running, I'm sharing what I've learned over the past 20 years, mentoring others in the creative and well being sector.
